After selecting Climate Conscious thematic for a contemporary narration of awareness on climate change, here is Amazonia Breathing. The green lung of our planet: the geographic area of 7 kmq hosts the largest rainforest worldwide and produces nearly 20% of the oxygen needed to guarantee life on the earth. Amazonia territory, consisting of Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, french Guiana, Suriname and Venezuela, represents one of the most important goals of sustainability and preservation for all of us.

Amazonian forest hosts 60.000 species of plants, 1.000 species of birds and over 300 species of mammals. The richest ecosystem in terms of biodiversity and the most endangered as well. The intense activities of deforestation damage the territory, the life of countless living creatures, and deprive of oxygen all of us, day after day. Ambientha collects the emotions coming from the beauty of the tropical nature, majestic and primordial, and touches the sensibility of those who care about the world surrounding us, even though million kilometres away.

As researchers observe, in recent decades men’s activity has been changing this amazing wild world, not so slowly anymore. Deforestation, prompted by the necessity of breeding and cultivation, triggers major changings on several fronts, if not on all of them. Tree felling leads to a lower production of oxygen, to the disappearance of several animal species from their natural habitat, to the reduction in evaporated water used by the rivers and directly to global warming.

The population of Ara is decreasing, with deforestation as a cause, but if you’d go at the Iguacu waterfalls in Amazon, you may find one of their famous colonies. The walls of rock, for the most part made out of mud, are dug by colourful parrots to create their own nests.
