Notoriety and recognitions for the Italian boroughs: Treasure Italia is inspired to Matera, designated as capital of the European culture 2019

A great responsibility for a small city. The capital of European culture is an institution born in 1985 for encouraging the knowledge of the historic, artistic and cultural heritage of EU member States, and Matera is the one to have earned the title for 2019. Among its famous Stones, with UNESCO World Heritage Sites Declaration in 1993, Matera becomes popular for the fairy spectacle of its boroughs and urban centres.

One of the most ancient cities of the world, as a result of the recognition received, Matera hosts the museum itinerary dedicated to the great Spanish genius Salvador Dalí. The Persistence of the Opposites in Dalí in Matera exhibition, is a journey within the universe of the artist, among surrealist sculptures that have marked the path of the sculptor.

The extraordinary landscape of Matera, and especially the rock Churches, welcome this way the art of Salvador Dalí and the fans worldwide, preserving the great heritage, which characterizes the city, made of culture and traditions.

Throughout the year, the peninsula, across all its regions, provides a serie of musical, artistic and eno-gastronomic manifestations and events, able to promote the attractions of each borough.
